When to Schedule Home Services: A Year-Round Calendar for Homeowners

January – February

Schedule a furnace inspection if you have not already done so this season. Check attic insulation. Have your fireplace and chimney inspected if you use it regularly. Test smoke and CO detectors and replace batteries.

March – April

Schedule AC service before the summer rush — HVAC companies are busy in May and June, so early spring appointments get better prices and availability. Schedule gutter cleaning after winter. Have your roof inspected for winter damage.

May – June

Inspect and service irrigation and sprinkler systems. Power wash decks, patios, and driveways. Have window screens repaired or replaced. Schedule pest control inspection before summer insect activity peaks.

July – August

Check and clean dryer vents — a leading cause of house fires. Inspect caulking around windows and doors. If you have a pool, keep up with regular maintenance to prevent algae and equipment issues.

September – October
